The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles and Plainedge High School are pleased to

offer the Online Knowledge Test Application (OKTA) here at PHS after school in the high school library for students age 15 and older.

It’s simple:

  • Register Online (Click Here)
  • Report to the library during designated hours with proof of identity;
  • Enter basic information into a dedicated DMV site;
  • Take the exam which will be graded immediately. Students will receive a pass/fail receipt;
  • Take the passing receipt to any DMV (once the student turns age 16) and receive a full DMV learner’s permit.

The test can be taken as often as is necessary to achieve a passing score. DMV learners’ permit manuals are available in the library and online. Please contact the high school should you have any other questions.

The permit test is made available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school in the library starting at 2:00 pm. Students are responsible for other fees associated with obtaining their drivers permit and license.
